A planner template is the starting layout of a couple's EQ timeline: its sections, the blocks inside them and the questions they answer. You build one by shaping an EQ timeline the way you like it, then saving it as a template.
Before you start
A planner template works on every plan, LITE included.
Only an owner or admin sees the template controls. Staff and DJs do not.
Vocabulary on these screens: a section is a colored group, a block is a card inside it.
What a template keeps
A saved template keeps the sections, the blocks and the questions, including who can see each one (everyone, DJ and staff, or staff only). It leaves out every answer, song, note, time and person. Using a template puts a copy on an EQ timeline. The template itself never changes.
Steps: save an EQ timeline as a template
01Shape an EQ timeline
Open a couple's EQ timeline (or a test event of your own) and set up the sections and questions the way you want your couples to start.
02Open the timeline's Settings
Tap the gear icon. Scroll to the Planner templates heading. You see three rows:
Starting point ("start from a template, another event or scratch")
Save as a template ("keeps the sections and questions, never the answers")
Your templates ("read them and set your defaults")
03Save it
Tap Save on Save as a template, give it a name (up to 60 characters) and press Save template.
What you see"Template saved", and the list of your templates opens.
04Read it back
In the list, tap View on your template. It opens read-only, showing every section and block in order with its questions. Staff-only and DJ-only items carry a small label. The top says how many sections, blocks and questions it has.
Steps: start a couple from a template
05Open the timeline's Settings and tap Choose on Starting point
You can also open the client's workspace and tap Planner templates.
06Pick a starting point
Start from scratch. Just the frame: the client hub, Build Your Night, the staff block and final review. You add every section.
A template card. Shows its name, a description, how many sections, blocks and questions it has, and its event-type tags. Tap View to read it, or Use this template.
From another event. Copies that event's sections and questions, including who can see each one. Never its answers, songs, notes, times or people. Pick the event and press Use its layout.
07Confirm
Wedding EQ asks "Replace this planner?" and tells you it starts again from your choice. Press Use it.
What you seeThe timeline reloads with the new layout.
A timeline that already has any answer, song, note or person can never be replaced. If you try, the screen says "This planner already has answers, so its starting point can't change. You can save it as a template." A view-only event says "This event is view-only, so its planner can't start over."
The Planner templates library
More › Planner content › Planner templates is the one place for all your templates. Each template is a card with its name, a description, its counts and its event-type tags. Each card has View, Make default... and, on templates you saved, Archive.
Steps: set defaults so new timelines start right
08Open the Planner templates library
Go to More › Planner content › Planner templates. You can also tap Open on Your templates in the timeline's Settings. (On Pro you can also open the page from a client's workspace. The page has chips to filter by event type, and a sort menu for Name, Newest and Most blocks.)
09Set a default
On a template's card, pick from Make default...:
For every event, or
For (an event type), such as Wedding, Private party, Corporate or School dance.
What you see"Default set", and a green label on the card: "Company default" or "Default for Wedding". New timelines start from it. A company with no defaults gets exactly what it got before.
10Archive one you no longer want
Tap Archive on a template you saved and confirm. It stops showing in the list. Timelines already made from it are not touched. Wedding EQ's own templates cannot be archived.
If something goes wrong
"Give the template a name." Type a name before you press Save template.
"That event has no planner yet." Start a timeline for the event first (the client's workspace has a Start one button).
"Only an owner or admin of this company can do this." Ask your owner or an admin.
"That template was not found." It was archived or renamed elsewhere. Reload the list.
"This planner already has answers, so its starting point can't change." Save it as a template instead, and use the template on a new event.
"Saving your changes first. Try again in a moment." The timeline had an unsaved edit. Wait for it to sync, then try again.
