Wedding EQ can use your Google Workspace for files (Drive), the email it sends and drafts for you (Gmail), and your calendar. It only touches what you connect, for the features you use.
| Connection | What Wedding EQ does with it |
|---|---|
| Google Drive | Stores your images, contract and invoice PDFs and event files in a folder in your own Drive. Without it, image uploads can fail. Your logo is the exception: any company can upload one, with or without Drive. |
| Gmail | Sends the emails you choose to send, and creates drafts in your mailbox for the ones you send yourself. Sends as a real mailbox, not a group address. Also searches your staff mailboxes, read-only, for messages with a client's email address, so the client's record shows your correspondence with them. |
| Calendar | Puts your date holds and booked events on your calendar, each with a link to its timeline, and reads it to find final planning sessions. |
| Tasks | Adds follow-up reminders to your own Google Tasks list. Each person can switch this off in their alert settings. |
| Sign in with Google | Only proves who you are. |
Sign-in through Google is a separate thing from the four above.
On your onboarding call, say which of Drive, Gmail and Calendar you want. Mike sets up only those.
In the Google Admin console (Security, Access and data control, API controls, Manage Domain Wide Delegation), the administrator adds Wedding EQ's connection with the Client ID and the permissions for the features you chose. Mike gives you the exact values.
Wedding EQ records which Workspace user it acts as and checks access. For Drive, the operator presses Check access, which reports exactly what is still missing, and then Connect Drive. Connecting creates a folder in your Drive named for your company. If your company already has event notes stored in Wedding EQ, they are copied into the new Drive and each copy is checked before anything switches over. Nothing is removed from Wedding EQ. The folder can be removed later.
We set this for you on your setup call: who emails send as, the from name, the from address and your staff mailboxes. It has to be a real mailbox, not a group address. Tell us if any of it needs to change.
We confirm it with you on the call. A test you can run yourself: in Templates, open an email and press Send me a test (guide 8).
Google shows it. In the Admin console, Domain-wide delegation lists Wedding EQ's entry with the permissions it holds. You can also ask us: email support@weddingeq.com and we will tell you what is connected for your company.
Your Workspace administrator removes Wedding EQ's entry from domain-wide delegation, or edits it to remove one permission (for example calendar), and the matching Wedding EQ feature stops working. Removing the entry takes effect right away. Google says an edit can take up to 24 hours, and usually less.
Or email support@weddingeq.com and we will disconnect the company for you.
If you only used Google to sign in, go to myaccount.google.com/linkedapps, filter for Sign in with Google, pick the Wedding EQ entry, press See details, then Stop using Sign in with Google and Confirm.
What you see after revoking: Wedding EQ can no longer read or write in your Google account for that feature. Your files stay in your Drive. In Wedding EQ, features that need Google say "Connect your Google account to use this." or "Connect Google Drive to use this."
