Your contract screen lets you start from Wedding EQ's sample, paste your own, or start blank. You edit it, read every version that could go out, and adopt it. Nothing goes to a client until you adopt one.
In Setup, group 4 Contract, item Your contract, press Edit.
Under 1. Where it starts pick one:
If you already have a contract, these move into a fold called "Start over from a different starting point". Starting over replaces your contract text. Your current version stays in its history, and you adopt again before your next send.
Once you have a contract, an Edit your contract box appears with a guide beside it. Change the text. To add a variable, tap its name in the guide and it drops in at your cursor. Press Save.
Every contract must keep {parties_intro} and {contractor_legal_caps}. The first carries who the agreement is between and the wording per event type. The second prints your legal name in capitals in the signature block. If either is missing, Save refuses and names it.
Under 2. Read every version you could send, open each event type you offer. You get one full contract per event type, plus each alternative wording a choice on an event can print. Blanks show as underscores with a label, such as [Event date], where each event's own details fill in.
Under 3. Adopt it, press the button. It carries this sentence: "I've read this contract. Its terms are my business's decision. Wedding EQ doesn't give legal advice." Adopting freezes the wording as yours. Wedding EQ will not change it unless you choose to adopt newer wording.
The status box shows a link, "Newer EQ sample wording is available: read it". Open it, read the preview, and adopt it only if you want it.
Variables are words in curly braces. When a contract is made for an event, Wedding EQ swaps each one for a fact. The guide beside your editor shows your own value where you have one and an example where you do not.
